Following on from the launch event<\/a> of the consultation process for a proposed community-owned renewable energy project in Wellow and Peasedown, there will be a forum<\/a> on Wednesday 25th February at 6pm at The Hive in Peasedown<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of this is to give information about what possibilities there are for this project, to think about potential sites for a possible solar farm or wind turbine (for eg), and to hear from the local community whether we would want such a project to go ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funding has been made available\u00a0to help our parishes explore and develop a community-owned renewable energy project that will eventually bring our local areas direct benefit \u2013 both in sustainable energy, and in the form of community income. There may even potentially be lower energy costs, as well as the ongoing security of community owned energy production.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in order for this project to get off the ground,\u00a0there needs to be community interest and engagement.<\/strong> The aim of this forum is to determine whether a local renewable energy project gets developed, and to select a few sites for feasibility studies. But that won\u2019t happen without our input! So please come along to the event<\/strong> and make sure that Wellow\u2019s views are heard, whatever they may be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
